Man City’s FFP Verdict Didn’t Distract England Against Spain – Tuchel

England manager Thomas Tuchel has dismissed suggestions that the bombshell news surrounding Manchester City’s financial breaches played a role in the team’s narrow Nations League defeat to Spain. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

Insisting that his focus has remained strictly on football throughout the international camp, Tuchel stated that he was entirely absorbed in team meetings, training sessions and match preparations for Spain.

He added that even though the players had more free time to discuss the ongoing situation outside of team activities, the open dialogue was largely positive.

Not for me. For the players, they have more time than me, so for sure I can imagine that they talk about it but it’s good that they do and I didn’t feel them distracted.

There was a discussion, but at the end of the day when we’re with England, that’s been a big plus for us, we kind of put club football to one side and it was no different this week.”
