Nigerian pop star, Wizkid was in Ghana last weekend for the 17th Ghana Music Awards where he won the African Artiste of the Year award.
He also made headlines for unveiling three new acts Efya, R2Bess and Mr. Eazi under Starboy Entertainment Worldwide and announcing Oma Sterling, one half of R2Bees as the president of the label.
However, he’s been in the news in the West African country for some negative incidents that allegedly happened during his visit.
Now here’s the gist; Ghanaians are saying Wizkid wasn’t totally cool when he was in their country. Blogs in Ghana are reporting that Wizkid ‘smashed and broke a microphone minutes after starting his sound-check’.
They also said he ‘expressed his frustration throwing some unprintable words at the director’ because he was delayed for almost 2 hours before he could do his sound check only for the organisers to hurry him up in the process.
Wizkid who is currently in Malaysia for a show tomorrow is known to be quite short fused and he did actually drop the mic on stage during his acceptance speech – this time gently.
