The 2023 presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim, has called on President Bola Tinubu to reshuffle his cabinet, citing inefficiency and lack of capacity among some current ministers.
Speaking on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television, Ado-Ibrahim said the president’s vision for Nigeria has not materialised due to the poor performance of key members of his cabinet.
“In my own opinion, most of what the president has, as far as his cabinet is concerned, should be refreshed. They’re done,” the YPP chieftain stated.

He argued that effective governance requires more than assigning titles to individuals, stressing the need for competent administrators with a clear understanding of their roles.
“There is no knowledge that you can have and just assume that nobody else has it. There are smarter people than I. I just have an opinion. So my opinion is, yes, he needs to freshen up this cabinet. He needs to give people more confidence,” he added.
Ado-Ibrahim further emphasised the importance of strategic planning and execution in governance, saying President Tinubu must surround himself with individuals capable of translating plans into tangible results.
“You need an administrator,” he said. “Not just give a guy a post and say, ‘You’re a health minister, go do healthy stuff.’”
The YPP presidential flagbearer is the latest political figure to publicly critique the performance of the current administration’s cabinet amid growing calls for improved governance and delivery of campaign promises.
