The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its readiness to welcome Governor Dauda Lawal into its fold should he choose to defect from his current party.
State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, made the disclosure during a media briefing with journalists in Gusau on Friday, as political activities begin to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Garba described the ADC as an emerging force in Zamfara’s political landscape and reiterated the party’s openness to new members who share its vision for progress and inclusive governance.

“We are ready to welcome Governor Dauda Lawal if he decides to join our party. We don’t discriminate. The doors of the ADC are open to everyone, including the governor,” Garba said.
He added that the party is already putting structures in place across all 14 local government areas of the state to strengthen its grassroots presence and position itself as a serious contender in the next election cycle.
“Preparations are ongoing to solidify the party’s structure statewide. We are working to ensure that the ADC remains a credible alternative for the people of Zamfara,” he stated.
The declaration comes as opposition parties, including the ADC, continue to attract attention amid growing political realignments and discussions around the 2027 general elections.
