The claim made by Governor Dauda Lawal that previous Governor Bello Matawalle stole billions of Naira from the Cargo Airport project has been disproved by the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, which is abbreviated as APC.
The party made it clear that they expected the Governor to back up his claim with authentic documentation.
This information was included in a statement that was released by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, and distributed to journalists in Gusau, which is the capital of the state.
The statement went on to challenge the Governor to bring out the true documents, as well as give an explanation for why he embarked on destroying structures at the Airport and vehemently refused to look into the contractor’s call for a variation of the project from N11 billion to N25 billion due to the high cost of materials.
