The claim made by Governor Dauda Lawal that previous Governor Bello Matawalle stole billions of Naira from the Cargo Airport project has been disproved by the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, which is abbreviated as APC.
The party made it clear that they expected the Governor to back up his claim with authentic documentation.
This information was included in a statement that was released by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, and distributed to journalists in Gusau, which is the capital of the state.

The statement went on to challenge the Governor to bring out the true documents, as well as give an explanation for why he embarked on destroying structures at the Airport and vehemently refused to look into the contractor’s call for a variation of the project from N11 billion to N25 billion due to the high cost of materials. In addition, the statement challenged the Governor to bring out the true documents, as well as give an explanation for why he embarked on destroying structures at the Airport.
“We will want to categorically state that since government is a continuous process, Governor Dauda is fully aware of the actual and true position of things on the matter, but chose to deceive the people of the state due to the unconfessed hatred and disdain he has for Matawalle. “We will want to categorically state that since government is a continuous process, Governor Dauda is fully aware of the actual and true position of things on the matter.
“The current Governor is also using misinformation to cover up his failure, especially in squarely addressing insecurity in Zamfara, where bandits have virtually taken control of the State in bloodletting spree of innocent citizens, while the Governor is irresponsibly engaged in street dancing in Imo State as if he is expressing his joy over the killings of his people. “Zamfara is a state in which bandits have virtually taken control of the State in bloodletting spree of innocent citizens. ”
“Before Matawalle left office, significant progress was recorded on the project,” he stated. “This is a testament to Matawalle’s leadership.”
