Barcelona legend Rivaldo has openly declared on Instagram, that former Real Madrid and France star Zinedine Zidane will be the next Real Madrid coach in the aftermath of Madrid’s humiliating 4-0 defeat against Barcelona in the El Clasico battle on Saturday night.
Real Madrid horribly lost their last La Liga game before the international break to Sevilla and there were plenty of rumours in the build-up to Real Madrid’s El Clasico clash with Barcelona that Rafa Benitez would lose his job with a defeat.
The Catalans were smashed 4-0 thanks to goals from Luis Suarez (2), Neymar and Andres Iniesta.
After the game, on Instagram, Rivaldo announced that Real Madrid have appointed Zinedine Zidane as their new coach.
“Congratulations to all players of Barcelona, were incredible at Real Madrid, looked like two rings of training. Real Madrid already has a new coach in Zidane, I believe it’s time to give opportunity to him as did Barça with Guardiola and Luis Enrique,” the former Brazil international wrote on the social media.
Meanwhile Rafa Benítez remained calm after the 0-4 Real Madrid suffered against Barcelona, saying that they “have to stay together and regain some confidence after this loss that hurts us so badly.”
The Spanish manager also added that “the second half was much better and we could’ve made a comeback had Marcelo’s shot gone in.”
Benítez did not want to speak much about his situation in the club right now. It seems that he could be on the hot seat but he refused to talk about this topic.
“Our plan was to attack and that’s why I started this team. It obviously did not work out and that’s all I can say about the lineup. We turned the ball over and we made important mistakes. It’s not all a matter of playing with the right attitude because we tried hard when the second half started.”
The fans at the Bernabéu were very unhappy with the team and the players were whistled when the first half ended.
