Liverpool and Chelsea have been given a clear indication that midfield target Jorginho is available for transfer this month.
.
The player’s agent, Joao Santos, claims that his client will be allowed to leave Hellas Verona if the club receives a ‘great offer’.
.
Chelsea and Liverpool are both linked with the Brazilian, whilst previous reports in the Metro claimed Arsenal and Manchester United were also keen on the £15million-rated playmaker.
.
“He can leave Verona now if he receives a great offer – if an important proposal arrives it is fair that the player is allowed to leave,” Santos told TMW.
.
“In Italy there are three or four teams who can pay for him and Napoli is one of them. Napoli is one of the most important clubs in Italy. If Napoli want him they should talk with Verona, who play their next match against the Blues.
.
“Now Jorginho is focused on the team and does not think about the transfer market.”
.
Whether Premier League clubs can muscle in on the Serie ‘A’ giants remains to be seen, but both freshly mentioned clubs could utilise the 22-year-old’s ability.
.
Liverpool are in the midst of producing a genuine title challenge this season, with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge keeping the Merseyside giants in contention at the top of the table.
.
However, a lack of depth could prove to be the Reds’ undoing, particularly behind the strikers as we enter the second-half of the season.
.
Brendan Rodgers tried to bring Jorginho to Anfield in the last transfer window, TalkSPORT claims, and his arrival this month would be a welcome boost to the Liverpool ranks.
.
Things are slightly different at Chelsea however, with a plethora of options available to manager Jose Mourinho in the position.
.
Indeed, the likes of Juan Mata and Oscar have found first team opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge, as ‘the special one’ rotates his attacking midfielders in the Blues’ 4-2-3-1 formation.
.
Jorginho would give the Chelsea boss even more choice in the second part of the season, although their might be greater need in other positions this month.
