Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan said no political office was worth a human life and charged politicians to refrain from bitterness and violence as they jostle for vantage position ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The Governor gave this charge at Asaba while speaking at a Special Valentine Day event tagged “An Evening with the First Family”, informing politicians that power belong to God, who freely gives it to whom He pleases.
He urged Nigerians especially the political class in the spirit of the season to show love to one another and refrain from doing harm to others adding that if we love one another we will not harm each other either with physical arms or with our tongues.
The Governor enjoined couples to use the Valentine Day celebration to renew their marriage vows and love for one another as well as share the blessings of love as this would bring them closer and make their relationship more stable.
Also, the Governor used the occasion to urge Nigerians to be involved in various forms of physical exercises so as to keep fit and healthy stressing that healthy family unit means a healthy society.
The wife of the Governor and organizer of the programme Deaconess Roli Nere Uduaghan, said that the event was put together for couples to appreciate the blessings of the love of God on this special day.
