The South-West leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party is planning a summit for South-West traditional rulers, under the aegis of Egbe Iyipada Yoruba towards enlisting the support of traditional rulers in the zone for President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to power in 2015.
A proposal for the summit was prepared by the PDP South-West zone led by Mr. Olabode George during its just concluded meeting in Abuja.
The information was contained in a communiqué issued by members of the PDP South-West zone at the end of the meeting.
The communique also noted, “Already, the elders of the PDP South-West had passed a resolution urging President Jonathan to declare his interest in the presidential election, based on his good account of stewardship.
“In addition, the Egbe Iyipada Yoruba has scheduled a musical jamboree, designed to mobilise support for Jonathan ahead of the 2015 presidential election, as top musicians from the zone are to assemble to actualise the pro-Jonathan agenda.
“The musical jamboree is planned to be held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos just before the formal planned declaration of the President for re-election”. (NAN)
