Chief Mrs Titi Abubakar, wife of Nigeria’s former vice president and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2019 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has taken a swipe at the economic policies of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, saying it has brought more hardship to the country.
Titi Abubakar spoke at a town hall meeting attended by thousands of PDP faithful in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Hajia Abubakar stated that the only panacea out of the present suffering being encountered by Nigerians is to vote out APC at all levels in the next general election.
She said that PDP remains the best alternative to the ruling APC, urging Nigerians to think deeply and passionately vote PDP.
According to her, her husband had once headed the economic team during the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, disclosing that the resultant effects brought about several transformation agendas which had direct positive impact on the people.
“My husband who is the PDP presidential candidate played a leading role in the third republic. He led the team which saw to the unprecedented growth of the country’s economy. So, he knows where the shoes are pinching the common people and would definitely address such challenges.
APC promised job opportunities, and boost in the economy. But what we have witnessed in the last three years was untold hardship and hunger in the land”.
Titi Abubakar, however, promised that with his husband at the helms of affairs, and as an employer of labour, all the suffering will become a thing of the past.
She also urged the people of Ogun State to cast their votes for Hon. Ladi Adebutu who she described as a humanist, philanthropist and strong advocate of youths’ empowerment.
According to her, Adebutu has singularly provided over two hundred and one (500) kva transformers to different communities in the state among other philanthropic gestures.
