The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents that it is fully prepared to provide adequate security before, during and after the 2027 general elections.
The command said it had commenced strategic preparations to ensure a peaceful and secure electoral process across the state.

The assurance was given by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, as the command outlined measures aimed at preventing violence, intimidation and other forms of electoral malpractice during the polls.
The police said its preparations would include enhanced intelligence gathering, improved collaboration with other security agencies and increased deployment to identified flashpoints across the state.
The command also assured residents, political parties and other stakeholders that security personnel would remain professional and impartial in the discharge of their duties.
It urged political actors and their supporters to conduct their activities peacefully and abide by the provisions of the law throughout the electioneering period.
The police further called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information on suspicious activities that could threaten public safety.
According to the command, effective security during the elections would require the collective efforts of security agencies, political parties, candidates, election officials and members of the public.
The assurance comes as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties and candidates already mobilising supporters and positioning themselves for the contest.
The Lagos Police Command said it would continue to review its security strategy as the elections draw closer, stressing that maintaining peace and protecting the integrity of the electoral process remained a priority.
