Former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, says the Nigerian opposition is not prepared to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Momodu stated this on Tuesday in a post on his verified X handle, expressing concern over the lack of unity and coordination among opposition presidential hopefuls.

He questioned how they intend to defeat Tinubu when they have yet to agree on a common front or develop a unified strategy.
The media entrepreneur and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, argued that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains the only opposition figure with the structure, experience and seriousness required to mount a credible challenge.
According to him:
“I often wonder how some opposition Presidential aspirants can think of knocking out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, when they have not even come together to agree on a common strategy. Let me emphasize that contesting for the highest office in any country is no child’s place.
The only opposition leader who seems to understand what it takes to be competitive is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.”
Momodu’s remarks add to ongoing debates over the preparedness of the opposition ahead of the next presidential contest.
