Following the worldwide criticism of his insensitive and mocking video of autistic boy and his public apology, 50 Cent has reportedly donated the sum of $100,000 to autistic foundation, Autism Speaks.
50 Cent had yesterday, May 5, 2016, issued a written apology to 19-yr-old, Austin Farrell and has now donated the sum of a $100,000 to Autism Speaks, as demanded by Austin’s family.
TMZ reports that 50 Cent had referred to the video he posted of Farrell, explaining:
“I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding. There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support.
“I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can.”
Farrell’s family had asked 50 Cent to publicly apologize to their son as well as donate $10,000 as recompense to the autism advocacy group, after they had seen the humiliating video of their son which 50 Cent had posted online, where he mocked him and called him a drug user.
50 reportedly apologized to Farrell privately and publicly through Page Six and has now donated far more than was requested, to the group, while calling on his colleagues to help the cause.
