The National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) has said that some of its members are still on strike despite a one-week suspension announced after a meeting with House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
The disclosure was made by NARD President, Muhammad Askira via a statement released on Thursday, June 9.
It reads:
The association wishes to state that, only members whose salaries are paid in full (with100% skipping) are exempted from starting the strike on June 9, following the intervention of the speaker of the House of Representatives.
While those who are getting fractions or no salaries will continue the strike action as planned. This is the true position of the meeting between the national president and other members of the leadership and the speaker of the House of Representatives held on Wednesday, June 8.
All members should await and regard further communication only from the NARD leadership.
