Stop what you’re doing. Phil Jones might have just accidentally revealed that time travel exists.
While he should have been getting plenty of rest ahead of Man United’s game against Sunderland tomorrow, he instead popped up in Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund.
Not only did he pop up, he managed to take over Arturo Vidal’s body. Confused? We don’t blame you. Allow us to explain.
With Bayern leading 2-1, through goals from Franck Ribery and Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele burst into the area in search of an equaliser.
It was then that Vidal, sorry Jones, put his neck on the line, quite literally, to stop Dembele in his tracks.
The only other person we’ve seen try and pull that tackle off is Jones, so there’s no other player it could have been.
You’re not fooling anyone Arturo. Now where are Mulder and Scully from the X-Files when you need them?
The tackle almost overshadowed the fact that Bayern dispatched their arch-rivals 4-1, with Lewandowski scoring the third and fourth goals.
Next thing you know Jones will be popping up in every corner of world football executing perfectly timed header tackles as only he can.
