The Zamfara State Government has officially disclosed its allocation of N7.2 billion for the completion of the ambitious 10-storey Gusau Investment House project. Abdurrahman Tumbido, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, shared this information with the press following the defense of the ministry’s 2024 appropriation at the State House of Assembly in Gusau on a Saturday.
Commissioner Tumbido elucidated that the completion of the Gusau Investment House stands out as a key project outlined in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Governor Dauda Lawal had earlier presented the N423.5 billion Appropriation Bill to the state assembly for the 2024 fiscal year, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing significant developmental initiatives.
It is noteworthy that the Gusau Investment House project had its genesis during the tenure of former Governor Mahmud Shinkafi, showcasing the continuity of strategic infrastructural endeavors. Tumbido emphasized the pivotal role the completion of this investment house would play in bolstering the state’s economy due to its inherent revenue-generating potential.

In a dialogue with the press, Commissioner Tumbido shed light on the extensive discussions held with lawmakers concerning the project. He expressed satisfaction with their commitment to allocate resources for its completion, emphasizing that all proposed projects were strategically designed to enhance Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and promote commercial activities within the state.
Expanding further on the government’s visionary initiatives, Commissioner Tumbido unveiled an additional allocation of N17 billion for various capital projects to be executed under the Zamfara State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism in the upcoming 2024 fiscal year. These projects encompass diverse undertakings, including the finalization of the Gusau hotel project, reconstruction of Gusau’s old market, and the modernization of the Gusau Central market, all deemed as potential revenue generators.
“The state government envisions executing a myriad of development projects valued at N17 billion under the ministry. Key projects outlined in the budget encompass not only the completion of the Gusau hotel project but also the reconstruction of Gusau’s old market and the modernization of Gusau Central market, among others,” elucidated Commissioner Tumbido.
This comprehensive commitment to infrastructural development underscores the government’s strategic focus on both short-term gains and long-term economic sustainability. The investment in the completion of the Gusau Investment House and other key projects aligns with the broader vision of stimulating economic growth, attracting investments, and fostering a conducive environment for commerce and industry within Zamfara State.
As the state looks ahead to the 2024 fiscal year, the government’s emphasis on diverse projects aimed at enhancing revenue streams reflects a holistic approach to economic development. The foresight demonstrated in budgetary allocations underscores the authorities’ commitment to addressing not only immediate needs but also laying the groundwork for sustained progress and prosperity.
