The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, has announced the restructuring of the Ekiti Ring Road Phase I project to prevent the demolition of houses in the communities along its route.
He made this assurance to residents of Iworoko, Are, and Afao Ekiti, emphasizing the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji administration to the well-being of the people and the state’s rapid development.
Olatunbosun emphasized that while maintaining high standards, the government is dedicated to the state’s economic prosperity, peace, and tranquility.

He explained that a ring road, according to international best practices, is designed to reduce traffic congestion in urban centers by providing an alternate route around the city for through traffic.
The commissioner highlighted the project’s focus on state development and the improvement of citizens’ lives through efficient techniques that prioritize environmental safety and waste management.
He urged all stakeholders to support and take ownership of projects in their areas, fostering a culture of collective responsibility to protect community interests.
Echoing Olatunbosun’s sentiments, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, assured residents that the restructuring would not diminish the project’s benefits to their communities.
He emphasized that the road would enhance socio-economic activities in the areas, paving the way for accelerated development.
Adebayo solicited the support of all stakeholders for the successful completion of the Ring Road project, underscoring the importance of continuous public backing for the government’s developmental initiatives in achieving the state’s objectives.
