The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Hon. Amina Divine Arong from Cross River State as the party’s new National Woman Leader.
This appointment comes in the wake of the passing of the former National Woman Leader, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP.

The statement conveyed the party’s confidence in Arong’s ability to contribute to the growth and success of the PDP, emphasizing her track record as a prominent party women mobilizer.
In the statement, the PDP congratulated Arong on her new role and urged her to utilize her capacity and experience to collaborate with other members of the National Working Committee in ensuring the continued stability, growth, and success of the party.
Arong’s dedication to the party’s growth, particularly her leadership in mobilizing women and youth groups at various levels and her involvement in conducting party primaries across the country, was commended by the party.
With this appointment, the PDP aims to further strengthen its organizational structure and continue its efforts to engage diverse segments of the population in furtherance of its political objectives.
