The Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA) has called on politicians in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to give the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, the necessary time to carry out his duties as the head of the FCT Administration.
This call comes in response to recent comments by Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the FCT, who accused the former Rivers State governor of displaying an “I don’t care attitude” towards the security of the Nigerian capital.
The AYA emphasized that the current state of the nation requires unity and collaboration, rather than politically motivated statements or actions.

The group commended Wike for his efforts in improving security and infrastructural development in the FCT.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Salihu Danlami, its Speaker, the Arewa Youth Assembly called on all politicians, regardless of their political affiliation, to work together to ensure the security and well-being of all FCT residents.
The group reminded politicians of Wike’s recent statement that security is crucial for meaningful development.
It urged politicians to refrain from using “cheap tricks” to play politics with the lives of FCT residents.
Finally, the AYA encouraged residents to remain calm, cooperate with security agents, and report any suspicious activities, as security is a collective responsibility.
