Former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, has expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and killings across Nigeria.
In a statement posted on social media, Ezekwesili described Nigeria as a “massive killing field” and “mass graves overrunning with the blood of innocent children, youth, women, and men.”
Ezekwesili highlighted the urgent need for a national dialogue, stating that there is a “raging battle for the soul of Nigeria.”

She emphasized that every Nigerian, regardless of background, recognizes that the Nigeria of the past is no more.
According to Ezekwesili, it is imperative for Nigerians to come together and initiate a legally mandated National Conversation.
This conversation, she believes, will address the value placed on human life and the values necessary to uphold, preserve, and dignify a new Nigeria and its people.
She warned that throughout history, countries began their decline when human life lost its value.
Ezekwesili called on Nigerians to confront the challenges facing the nation and work collectively to change its course for a better future.
