The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has sealed two hotels, an event center, and several other business premises in Kaduna metropolis over unpaid taxes amounting to approximately N422.6 million.
The sealed businesses include Seals Admiralty Naval Suites owned by Navy Travels and Tours, Abuja, Deluxe Suites located at Ali Akilu Road, Kaduna, Big City Event Centre, Bijo Surgical & Scientific Limited, Zedvance Finance Limited, TXTLight Power Solution, Lek Dental & Maxillofacial Hospital, Azaka, and Enyo filling station, among others.
Aysha Ahmad, the KADIRS Board Secretary and Legal Advisor, stated that the exercise aimed to enforce compliance by businesses that failed to fulfill their civic responsibility of tax payment.

She emphasized that the agency did not take pleasure in sealing properties of tax defaulters but was left with no choice but to enforce compliance within the confines of the law.
Ahmad highlighted that KADIRS advocates for voluntary compliance and exhausts all possible means before resorting to enforcement.
She urged the people of the state to fulfill their civic responsibility by voluntarily complying with tax obligations.
