On Monday, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly stormed a high court in Ilaro, Ogun State, and arrested two defendants, Alhaji Isiaka Fatai and Samuel Oyero, during proceedings regarding suit No HCP/IC/2023, The State vs Awode Oladosu & 13 others, presided over by Justice A.A. Shobayo.
The case is related to an allegation of arson reported by Akeem Adigun (aka Socopao), involving Alhaji Isiaka Fatai, Oyero, and 12 others.
The town of Agosasa recently experienced a crisis, resulting in the destruction of property worth billions of naira and one loss of life over an Obaship tussle.

According to a statement from the counsel to Alhaji Isiaka, Kehinde Bamiwola Esq, the DSS operatives allegedly used force on the defendants, with Alhaji Isiaka Fatai being beaten, slapped, manhandled, and molested.
Confirming the incident, the Principal Registrar of the High Court and Sectional Head of High Court, Ilaro, Comrade Omololu Olusanya, expressed shock and described the actions of the DSS operatives as disrespectful to the rule of law.
He mentioned that despite the judge’s order not to make any arrests within the court premises, the operatives proceeded to arrest the two individuals, even assaulting a court staff member, Mrs. Fadina, in the process.
Olusanya criticized the DSS operatives for not wearing any identification, making them appear like armed robbers.
He recounted that they were advised by the judge to conduct any arrests outside the court premises, but they disregarded this and carried out the arrest within the court premises.
