The Nigeria Police Force in Nasarawa State, in collaboration with the military, successfully neutralized a group of armed robbers on June 29, 2024.
The operation led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of various stolen items.
According to a press release by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Command, a distress call was received at approximately 0310hrs by the Divisional Police Officer in Karshi, reporting an ongoing armed robbery around the Karshi by-pass.

Nansel detailed the swift response: “Upon receipt of the information, police operatives, in collaboration with the military, swiftly moved to the scene.
On sighting security agents, the criminals opened fire, resulting in a gun duel. Consequently, two of the criminals were fatally injured and later died in the hospital while receiving treatment. Others escaped with bullet wounds.”
The combined team combed the general area and arrested two suspects, Yusuf Lawal, 27, a resident of Nyanya FCT, and Hamza Abdullahi, from Orange Market, Mararaba. Both suspects hail from Bauchi State.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included 3 cartridges, 3 cutlasses, 19 handsets of different brands, 2 laptops, 9 pairs of shoes, a wristwatch, an MP3 player, a power bank, 3 torches, 3 bags, 2 ear pods, a smoother, sachets of milk and Milo, and the sum of ₦2,600.
Nansel further stated that Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu Nadada commended the officers for their prompt and effective action and urged them to maintain their vigilance and dedication to duty.
