In a recent development, the Edo State Police Command has taken action following the death of one Omobude, involving members of the Edo State Security Network (ESSN).
Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, confirmed the arrest of ESSN members linked to the incident during a briefing in Benin City.
According to reports by verifiable sources, the altercation leading to Omobude’s death occurred after ESSN members were called to intervene in a fight instigated by Hassan Haladu.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was reported that the ESSN members restrained Omobude, inadvertently leading to his suffocation and subsequent death.
Commissioner Adegboye disclosed that upon receiving the distress call, operatives from the Ikpoba Hill Divisional Headquarters swiftly responded, apprehending six suspects in connection with the incident.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to Our Clinic Hospital for autopsy as investigations into the matter continue.
Additionally, the Commissioner revealed the arrest of Akhere Solomon, an alleged serial killer implicated in recent secret cult-related murders across the state.
This arrest follows an investigation into the murder of a victim identified as Samuel’s brother, reportedly shot dead by suspected cultists.
Adegboye further stated that Solomon confessed to being a member of the Eiye secret cult confraternity and admitted involvement in various cult-related killings.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other suspects who are still at large.
