ABC Transport Plc has announced a profit of N465.5 million for the first half of 2025, marking a significant turnaround from the losses recorded in the same period last year. The transport and logistics company attributed the improved performance to operational efficiency, cost optimisation measures, and increased patronage across its service routes.
The company’s latest financial disclosure indicated that revenue for the six-month period grew steadily, driven by an uptick in passenger numbers and a recovery in corporate charter services. This growth was further supported by the strategic expansion of its haulage operations and the adoption of technology-based solutions to streamline ticketing and fleet management.

ABC Transport’s management noted that the shift toward a more customer-focused approach, including improved service quality, better bus scheduling, and enhanced passenger comfort, played a key role in boosting sales. These measures, the company said, have helped regain market confidence and attract new clients, particularly in the corporate sector.
Speaking on the results, the Managing Director of ABC Transport Plc, Mr. Frank Nneji, stated that the company’s performance was a reflection of deliberate strategies implemented over the past year to reposition the business. He emphasised that cost-cutting measures, coupled with targeted marketing campaigns, had yielded positive results, despite persistent economic headwinds.
According to him, “We are encouraged by the progress made so far, especially in an operating environment marked by inflationary pressures, rising fuel costs, and intense competition. Our focus remains on delivering value to our customers and shareholders while maintaining strict cost discipline.”
The company also revealed that fuel cost management remained a top priority, given the significant impact of diesel and petrol prices on its operational expenses. ABC Transport has reportedly entered into strategic supply agreements to mitigate fluctuations in fuel costs while exploring alternative energy solutions to power some of its operations.
Industry analysts have described the profit announcement as a strong signal that ABC Transport is on a recovery path after facing years of fluctuating earnings. They noted that the company’s ability to post profits in the current challenging economic climate points to effective leadership and strategic resilience.
The company’s haulage and logistics division, which had faced slow demand in previous years, also recorded notable growth in H1 2025. Increased activity in the manufacturing and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors boosted demand for freight services, allowing the division to contribute meaningfully to the company’s bottom line.
ABC Transport further highlighted that its digital innovations, such as the introduction of online booking platforms, real-time bus tracking, and mobile payment systems, have enhanced convenience for customers and improved operational transparency. These initiatives, the company said, have not only improved customer retention but also attracted younger tech-savvy passengers.
The management expressed optimism about the second half of the year, revealing plans to expand its fleet with more fuel-efficient buses, open new interstate routes, and strengthen partnerships with corporate clients. The company also plans to explore cross-border opportunities within the ECOWAS sub-region, targeting increased connectivity between Nigeria and neighbouring West African countries.
Despite the positive results, ABC Transport acknowledged that the business environment remains challenging, with issues such as road infrastructure deficits, fluctuating foreign exchange rates, and security concerns along certain travel corridors still affecting operations. The company reiterated its commitment to working with relevant government agencies and stakeholders to address these challenges and improve the travel experience for passengers.
In line with its sustainability agenda, ABC Transport also revealed ongoing investments in environmental management practices, including reduced carbon emissions from its fleet and improved waste management at terminals. The company believes these efforts will not only align with global environmental standards but also enhance its corporate reputation.
Shareholders have welcomed the H1 performance, with many expressing optimism that the company’s profit momentum will continue into the second half of the year. The management has assured investors that it will maintain transparency in its operations and uphold dividend commitments where possible.
If the current trajectory continues, industry watchers believe ABC Transport could solidify its position as one of Nigeria’s leading transport service providers, capable of delivering sustainable growth despite prevailing economic and infrastructural challenges. The first half profit, they say, is a promising indicator of what the company can achieve with disciplined execution of its strategic plans.
