Chocolate City Group has appointed a legal luminary, Ifeyinwa Anyadiegwu, as the popular record label’s vice president. Ifeyinwa, a popular music executive with more than 8 years of experience in the Nigerian music industry, will now be serving as the label’s Head of Business and Legal Affairs.
Speaking via a press statement by the Chief Executive Officer of Chocolate City Group, Abuchi Ugwu, said that Ifeyinwa’s expertise and music business skills have played a key role in the label’s success in recent years.

Stating that Anyadiegwu was behind the signing of Afrobeats superstars like Tariq, Young John and Blaqbonez, he noted that the new Vice President will focus on protecting the label’s established artists while positioning Chocolate City as a force to reckon with in the African music scene.
“Ifeyinwa’s dedication, expertise, and strategic approach to the business of music have been invaluable to our growth. She has helped us build the kind of legal and commercial infrastructure African music needs to compete globally.
As we expand our footprint, her leadership will continue to drive innovation, protect our artists, and position Chocolate City as a world-class African music company. She has been instrumental to the label’s signature of prominent artistes, including Tariq, Young John and Blaqbonez.
As an advocate of enforcement and protection of intellectual property rights, Ifeyinwa has played a pivotal role in shaping related policies within the Nigerian music ecosystem, including the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022. She has successfully represented the label in several high-profile copyright infringement cases and commercial deals,” it read.
Reacting, Anyadiegwu appreciated the added responsibility that comes with her new role, stressing that she’ll continue to safeguard the creative rights of the artists under the record label.
“I am excited to step into this new role at such a pivotal time for Chocolate City and the African music industry.
My goal remains to champion our artists, protect their creative rights, and position Chocolate City as a global leader in music and entertainment,” she added.
