Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has said that he always wanted to remain at the club this summer. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the reports saying he opted to remain at the club to stay in his best shape for the World Cup are false, and both parties actually wanted him to stay in Manchester.
Bruno, however, added that he cannot predict what the future holds for him beyond the current season.
His words, “I didn’t close the door on moving to Saudi Arabia because of the World Cup. That was never in my mind. I wanted to stay at Manchester United, and the club wanted me to stay. That’s all there is to it.
I like to enjoy the moment, and the most important thing for me now is representing the national team, because it’s a source of enormous pride to be able to play tomorrow [Saturday], and I still don’t know if I’ll play, let alone if I’ll leave Manchester United in a year.
I’m happy where I am. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have stayed, but it’s something that doesn’t affect me.”

The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
