The Actors Guild of Nigeria has reacted to the altercation between Nollywood stars Peggy Ovire and Taye Arimoro on a movie set. AGN recently described the incident as disturbing and extremely unprofessional.
In a press statement posted on Instagram, the AGN president, Emeka Rollas, condemned the inhumane and degrading treatment meted out to Tayo in the viral CCTV clip.

According to him, no Nollywood actor should be subjected to any form of abuse or bullying while carrying out his or her professional duties.
He stated that such behaviour is not just unacceptable but also a stain on the country’s movie industry.
“No actor, under any circumstance, should be subjected to physical assault, intimidation, or any form of abuse in the course of professional engagement.
Such behaviour is not only unacceptable but also highly unethical and contrary to the standards and values of the Nigerian creative industry,” he wrote.
Emeka further noted that the guild’s national task force has started a full investigation into the incident, stressing that the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) must identify the producer involved and take disciplinary action in line with industry rules.
He concluded by advising movie practitioners to embrace “lawful and civil means of conflict resolution rather than resorting to violence or self-help.”
