Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday visited former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, at his Abuja residence amid growing tensions ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Elective Convention.
Lamido is among the aspirants seeking the position of National Chairman of the opposition party.
The meeting comes amid strong indications that both Saraki and Lamido may boycott the convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Their possible withdrawal follows Tuesday’s ruling by a Federal High Court in Abuja, which restrained the PDP from proceeding with the November 15–16 convention.
Justice Peter Lifu issued an interim order halting the event pending the determination of a suit filed by Lamido, who is challenging his exclusion from the race for national chairman.
The former governor had accused the PDP of denying him access to nomination forms despite meeting all procurement requirements.
The court’s decision has thrown the party’s preparations into uncertainty as key stakeholders await further legal clarification.
