The Accord Party has reminded the Nigerian government that the persistent challenge of insecurity remains a major concern for families across the country.
The party appealed for renewed commitment to the protection of lives and property, the strengthening of national cohesion, and the addressing of the root causes of violence through inclusive governance, economic opportunities and social justice.

In a Christmas message signed by its National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, Accord said the festive season symbolises hope, peace and renewal, noting that Nigeria’s greatest strength lies in its shared humanity and collective resolve.
The party called on Nigerians to renew their faith in the nation, democracy and themselves.
“Despite the challenges we face, Nigeria remains a country of immense promise, resilience and talent. Our democracy, though still evolving, belongs to the people and must continue to be strengthened through unity, participation and respect for the rule of law,” the statement said.
Accord urged Nigerians to remain united across ethnic, religious and political lines, stressing that unity is essential for national progress.
“Unity is not a choice; it is a necessity for national progress. Only together can we overcome division and build a peaceful and prosperous nation,” the party stated.
The party also called on leaders at all levels to prioritise peace, justice and people-oriented policies, emphasising that leadership must place the welfare, dignity and security of citizens above all other considerations.
“The persistent challenge of insecurity remains a concern for every Nigerian family. We appeal for renewed commitment to protecting lives and property, strengthening national cohesion, and addressing the root causes of violence through inclusive governance, economic opportunity and social justice,” Accord said.
It added that the welfare of citizens must remain the top priority, noting that a nation can only thrive when its people feel safe, heard and supported.
The party concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful Christmas, expressing hope that the season would inspire compassion, wise leadership and optimism for the country’s future.
