Manchester United legend Gary Neville has said that the speed of Ruben Amorim’s sack came as a shock. He recently revealed that the club’s next step should be appointing a manager who fits the club’s DNA, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, a manager getting sacked halfway through the season is not a stain on the entire club, not just the affected coach, but it is clear that the Wolves game was the match that ended Amorim’s MUFC career.

Neville added that even though it’ll be difficult to get an adequate replacement in, the next manager must really understand the club.
His words, “When a manager is sacked, it’s a poor reflection on everybody. It means it’s not worked.
Ultimately everyone loses, particularly when you are sacking a manager partway through the season. It’s very difficult to get an adequate replacement in.
I am surprised it’s happened this morning, I’m not surprised it’s happened. I didn’t realise it would happen so quickly. I did think they’d get through another couple of weeks and try and work out what to do.
But obviously it’s become that challenging internally that they decided to do it very quickly, which was a shock this morning when I heard the news at 10 o’clock.
If you look at some of the performances in the last month, they’ve really been shocking. However, there have been some bright spots along the way.
The Wolves game seems to me to be the killer game. It was a bad one, that.
The experiments have got to stop. I’ve always been very proud of what this club is — adventurous, exciting football, playing young players and entertaining the crowd. They must take risks and have the courage to play attacking, aggressive football.
United have got to a point where they need a manager who fits the DNA of the football club.
Barcelona will never change for anybody. I don’t believe United should change for anybody. The club has to find a manager who has got experience and who’s willing to play fast entertaining, attacking and aggressive football.”
WOW.
Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system.
Nicknamed the Red Devils, they were founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, but changed their name to Manchester United in 1902. After a spell playing in Clayton, Manchester, the club moved to their current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Alex Ferguson and his assistant Archie Knox arrived from Aberdeen on the day of Atkinson’s dismissal, and guided the club to an 11th-place finish in the league. Despite a second-place finish in 1987–88, the club was back in 11th place the following season. Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, Ferguson’s job was saved by victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final.
The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
