Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has explained why he was bizarrely spotted drinking from an Arsenal-branded cup ahead of Spurs’ Premier League clash with Bournemouth. The Dane risked incurring further wrath of disgruntled supporters when being seen strolling around the Vitality Stadium with a drink that promoted Tottenham’s fiercest rivals.
Reacting, Frank revealed that he did not even notice that he was holding an Arsenal Cup, and it would have been very silly of him to make such a mistake intentionally.
Thomas, however, added that Tottenham is definitely going in the wrong direction if the logo of the cup he holds becomes the main focus after matches.
His words, “I definitely did not notice it. It would be completely stupid of me to take it if I knew. It’s a little bit sad in football that I need to be asked about it.
I would never do something that stupid. I think we’re definitely going in the wrong direction if we need to worry about me having a cup with a logo of another club.”
