Frontline activist, Aisha Yesufu, has called on members of the Senate to impeach Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Yesufu also urged senators to stop attributing legislative challenges solely to Akpabio, insisting that all lawmakers share responsibility for decisions affecting the electoral process.

She made the remarks in a post on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, where she argued that the National Assembly has the constitutional authority to strengthen electoral laws, including provisions for real-time electronic transmission of election results.
Addressing the lawmakers, she wrote: “Dear Senators, stop playing bad cop, good cop with us. None of you is blameless.
“You are either active or passive participants to disenfranchise the Nigerian people and subvert their power to choose who governs them.”
Yesufu further urged the legislators to focus on legislative action rather than public engagements, stating that they should “go to the red chambers and fight for the soul of Nigeria.”
She stressed that senators possess the constitutional powers to ensure that provisions for real-time electronic transmission of election results are enacted into law.
“Stop telling us Akpabio is the problem! You all have the power to impeach Akpabio. Do it,” she added.
Her comments come amid ongoing debates over electoral reforms and the role of the National Assembly in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic processes.
