The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the alleged destruction of billboards bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu in Gusau.
In a statement issued on Friday in Gusau, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Yusuf Idris, described the development as disturbing and warned that it could trigger political violence in the state.
According to him, the party observed the removal and destruction of billboards displaying the president’s posters in parts of the state.

Idris alleged that the situation had been ongoing and began with what he described as a clampdown on APC billboards before the party petitioned security agencies.
He further claimed that certain individuals were being sponsored to cause unrest ahead of the party’s congresses and the 2027 general elections.
The APC spokesman alleged that on Wednesday, suspected thugs attempted to vandalise a billboard bearing the images of President Tinubu, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
The billboard, reportedly mounted in front of Matawalle’s residence in Gusau, was said to have been protected following the intervention of security personnel.
The party called on security agencies in the state to prevent further acts of vandalism and ensure the maintenance of peace.
It warned against actions capable of escalating political tensions, stating that it would not condone activities that could lead to violence.
