Nigerians have continued to express grief, anger and concern following a deadly Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, which reportedly claimed several lives.
Reports indicate that the attackers stormed the community around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, riding on motorcycles and opening fire indiscriminately on residents.
The sudden assault threw the area into panic as residents scrambled for safety.

In response, hundreds of aggrieved residents on Monday morning defied the state-imposed curfew to protest the killings and demand urgent government intervention.
The protesters gathered at the scene of the attack, expressing outrage over the recurring violence and loss of lives in the state.
Since news of the incident broke, many Nigerians have taken to social media to mourn the victims and condemn the attack.
Popular singer Peter Okoye expressed sorrow, writing on his X handle: “My heart is heavy… My prayers are with my people in Jos.”
Similarly, gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey offered prayers and words of hope for the affected community.
“JOS! You shall not be broken. The forces of evil in our nation shall never prevail. We shall see their end. It is well with you Jos. We see you! Let there be light!” he wrote.
However, beyond expressions of sympathy, several Nigerians also criticised Governor Caleb Mutfwang over persistent security challenges in the state.
Some social media users accused the government of failing in its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property, while others warned that the continued violence could deepen frustration among residents, particularly the youth.
The attack has once again heightened concerns over insecurity in Plateau State, with citizens calling for decisive action to halt the killings and restore peace.
