The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has assured residents of Oyo State that the Federal Government is committed to securing the safe return of schoolchildren and teachers abducted by gunmen in the Ogbomoso area of the state.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on Friday when armed assailants attacked the community and abducted pupils and teachers from LA School and Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinle.
Following the incident, President Bola Tinubu dispatched a high-powered delegation to Ogbomoso, including Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and other top government officials.

Speaking during the visit, Gbajabiamila said the President was deeply concerned about the rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity in the state.
“Mr President is deeply troubled by this incident. Whatever it takes, our children and teachers will be brought back home safely,” he said.
According to him, President Tinubu has issued all necessary directives and is providing maximum support to security agencies to ensure the victims are rescued unharmed.
“He has issued all necessary directives and is providing every support required by our security agencies to achieve that objective,” Gbajabiamila stated.
Addressing the affected families and community members, the Chief of Staff expressed optimism that the abducted pupils and teachers would soon regain their freedom.
“Your pain and anxiety are understood. By the grace of God, your children will return safely to your arms,” he added.
The Federal Government has yet to disclose details of ongoing rescue efforts, but security agencies are said to be intensifying operations to secure the release of the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
