My Daughter And I Have A Wedding To Plan – Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has come out to celebrate her daughter’s engagement. She recently shared a clip from the ceremony, stirring a lot of buzz on social media.

She wrote, “Have you heard? My twinnie is engaged! I guess we have a wedding to plan! Congratulations to the lovebirds.”

Meriah Ekeinde is one of the four children of Omotola and her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde.

The couple, who married in 1996 and marked 30 years of marriage earlier this year, also have Princess, Matthew (popularly called MJ or Captain E) and Michael.

The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
