The camp of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed reports suggesting that the governor is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The clarification followed Adeleke’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Reacting to speculation surrounding the visit, the governor’s spokesperson said there was no plan for Adeleke to join the APC.
The camp described the reports as unfounded, urging members of the public to disregard the rumours.
According to the statement, Adeleke’s visit to Tinubu was not connected to any plan to defect to the ruling party.
The governor has remained a member of the PDP amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development comes as politicians across the country continue to hold consultations and make strategic moves ahead of the next general election.
