The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has denied mobilising support for Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The party dismissed reports that its members and supporters were being mobilised to back Makinde’s alleged presidential ambition.
The Ekiti PDP described the claim as false, urging party members and the public to disregard reports suggesting that the state chapter had taken a position on the 2027 presidential contest.
The party maintained that no decision had been taken by its leadership to mobilise support for any presidential aspirant.
It urged members to remain focused on the affairs of the party and avoid actions or statements capable of creating confusion within its ranks.
The development comes amid growing speculation over possible presidential contenders and political realignments within the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
