I Still Believe In Manchester City’s Innocence – Rodri

Former Manchester City midfielder Rodri has defended his old club amid reports that they face a guilty verdict regarding their 115 Premier League financial charges. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

Insisting that he completely trusts the Etihad hierarchy after being assured of their innocence during his time in England, Rodri stated that City’s executives were always completely transparent with the playing squad regarding the ongoing allegations.

Recalling when UEFA initially banned City from European competition in 2020, the Spaniard added that he and his former teammates stayed calm until an appeal overturned the verdict.

His words, “They always told us the confidence they had in their innocence, and when you look in someone’s eyes and they tell you that.

We were always calm, we never saw the team being nervous with these kinds of things.

I believe in the innocence of the club. I know the club well. We were told at the time to be calm, and that everything had been done properly.

When you live daily at that club, with all the people that worked hard all these years to have the success we had, with Pep [Guardiola], the owners, everyone who worked on that. They can’t take that from us.

It’s something that isn’t paid for with money, it’s effort, partnership, standing shoulder to shoulder.

We had a lot of success, here at Wembley, and I can tell you that everything was deserved.”
