A 20-year-old man, Umar Abdullahi, has died after a violent clash among youths in Rahamanu Village, Aujara District, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, according to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Jigawa State, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, said the Aujara Divisional Office received a distress call from a member of the Fulani community reporting a serious fight involving some youths.
He said personnel were immediately deployed to the area, where two persons were found with serious injuries.
The victims were taken to the Primary Health Centre, Aujara, for medical treatment.
Tijjani identified the deceased as Umar Abdullahi, a resident of Rahamanu Fulani Settlement, who died while receiving treatment.
The second victim, 19-year-old Sule Adamu, also from the same settlement, survived the incident and is responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested by police personnel attached to the Aujara Division in connection with the clash.
The NSCDC spokesman said preliminary investigations had commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify all those involved.
He added that further developments would be made public as the investigation progresses.
The authorities have urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to determine the cause of the clash and prevent a recurrence.
