The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled two of its chieftains in Gombe State, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki and Usman Aliyu Garry, over alleged anti-party activities and gross misconduct.
The party announced the decision in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed.

According to the statement, the expulsion followed the findings of the party’s Disciplinary Committee and subsequent consideration by the relevant organs in accordance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution, as amended in 2017.
The party said the two politicians were found to have engaged in conduct inconsistent with its constitution, including anti-party activities, gross misconduct and actions capable of bringing the organisation into disrepute.
The offences were said to fall under Sections 58(1)(a), (b), (h) and (j) of the party’s constitution, which provide for disciplinary measures against members found guilty of misconduct.
The PDP maintained that the disciplinary proceedings complied with the principles of fair hearing as stipulated in Section 57(6) of its constitution and Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution.
Invoking Section 59(1)(j) of its constitution, the party declared that Mailantarki and Garry had ceased to be members and were no longer entitled to any membership rights, privileges or affiliation with the PDP at any level.
The statement quoted Mohammed as saying that the party’s constitution remained binding on all members, irrespective of their positions or influence.
He stressed that no member was above the party’s laws and disciplinary framework.
The PDP, however, did not provide specific details of the alleged anti-party activities or misconduct committed by the two politicians.
The development comes amid the party’s political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections and the dispute surrounding its governorship candidate in Gombe State, Isa Pantami.
Mailantarki and Garry were among the aspirants who challenged aspects of the party’s governorship primary process after Pantami emerged as its candidate.
The party urged its members across the country to remain loyal, disciplined and committed to its principles, calling for collective efforts to strengthen its structures.
