DIRECTOR PUBLICATIONS, MR. SAMUEL IYOYO SPEAKING AT MISS. JOY BRAIDE’S FUNERAL SERVICE AT BAKANA ON SATURDAY, 5TH JULY, 2014
The body of late Miss Joy Braide was laid to rest at the weekend in her home town, Bakana, in Degema Local Government Area of the State. Miss. Braide who passed on, on 4th June, 2014 after a brief illness at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMSH) Port Harcourt, was until her death a staff of the Public Enlightenment Department of Ministry of Information and Communications. During the commendation service held at Bakana, Pastor Henry Letan of Living Faith Church, 13 Harbour Road, Port Harcourt in a message titled, ‘‘the Blessedness of Life’’ taken from Psalm 9:12 said ‘‘everyone needs wisdom to put their days to good use’’.
Pastor Letan urged those present to take stock of their lives adding that, ‘‘your character is what immortalizes you’’. He said the testimonies about late Joy Braide humbled him noting that, ‘‘she gave her house for home cell, this is like when the ark of God was kept in Abedidoms house’’.

Earlier, the Director of Publications, Mr. Samuel Iyoyo who spoke on behalf of the Ministry said, Miss Braide was an embodiment of Joy, who gave her time for the service of God, she was indeed a mobiliser of persons adding that it is difficult to refer to her in past tense’’.
Mr. Iyoyo stated that the Ministry will miss her and urged the family and friends to take solace in the lord.
Also speaking Sister Laura Pepple of the Living Faith Church, Harbour Road, Port Harcourt, said ‘‘Joy was up and doing in the things of God, she was the only female tenor singer we had’’.
Others speakers eulogized her saying she was an addicted giver and was always wearing a smile.
The highlights of the event include; Choir Ministration by Living Faith Choir, Harbour road and prayers for the family.
Those in attendance included the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Mr. Rufus Direh, Director Administration, Mr. Hawkins Ide, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Opaka Dokubo, member of the NUJ, Rivers State Council, Living Faith Church and staff of Ministry of Information and Communications.
