- Promises executive, legislative harmonious relationship
The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has again stressed the need for the executive and the legislative arms of the government to relate harmoniously in the overall interest of the people.
Fayose made the remark while receiving the draft of the constitution amendment which was presented to him by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Albert Omirin in his office in Ado-Ekiti .
He thanked the Speaker and members of the House of Assembly for the visit, noting that the deliberations they have had so far was an indication that leaders could resolve issues amicably not minding the public perception of matters.
According to the governor, “We have had useful deliberations and have arrived at a common decision to have a united house that will further enhance the development of our state”.
The governor who assured the Speaker and members of the assembly that the executive arm is ready to work in harmony with the house in the overall interest of the state added that the executive would make their input into the document presented and return it to the house as soon as possible.
Earlier, while presenting the draft constitution amendment to the governor, the Speaker Right Honourable Albert Omirin explained that government activities in the past weeks delayed the presentation.
Omirin explained that the presentation of the document to the governor was borne out of the belief of the House of Assembly that it should have a common ground with the executive on what Ekiti State is going to vote for before returning the constitution amendment.
The Speaker also assured the governor of house resolution to ensure harmonious relationship with the executive to foster rapid development in the state.
