The kidnappers of Chief Olu Falae have demanded for N100m as ransom before they release him, Vanguard reports.
The Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chieftain of the Afenifere, Chief Samuel Oluyemisi Falae was kidnapped by gunmen numbering over 20 on Monday as he turns 77. They invaded his farm in Ilado village, Akure north area of Ondo state and kidnapped.
Over 50 policemen have been deployed to the village and environs in search of the kidnapped politician. Ondo State Governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko has also summoned an emergency state Security Council meeting on the matter.
Falae who was born on September 21, 1938 was kidnapped by over 20 Fulani herdsmen who invaded his farm and attacked his workers.
The former SGF served under the military government of Ibrahim Babangida from January 1986 to December 1990 when he also served as Finance Minister briefly.
