    Abide in integrity, accountability, transparency principles – Omobola Johnson charges NOTAP Board

    Omobola Johnson(Science & Technology News) The Supervising Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Omobola Johnson has advised members of the newly inaugurated boards of the National Office of Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) and the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) to be guided by the principles of integrity, accountability and transparency in the discharge of their responsibilities for national interests.

    While speaking at the formal inauguration of the Governing Boards of the two agencies under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Abuja recently, Omobola Johnson charged them to provide policy guidelines for the operations of the agencies to enable them render technology related services to investors, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and industrialists.

    The Minister, who described members of the Governing Boards as people with proven integrity, unwavering patriotism and uncommon sense of duty tasked them to bring these worthy attributes to bear on their mandates as enshrined in the Acts establishing their agencies. She requested the inaugurated boards to consolidate on their achievements by taking the agencies to the next level, which according to her, “would require total commitment and diligence in the highest order.”
     
    Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary in Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Rabi Shuaibu Jimeta stated that the recent approval of the two Governing Boards by President Goodluck Jonathan was geared towards strengthening these agencies to play effective roles in the implementation of the ST&I policy which was recently reviewed for more efficiency in the development of the country.

    The Permanent Secretary assured the boards of the Ministry’s maximum co-operation in the process of undertaking their national assignments.

    In her address on the platform of the Chairperson of the Board of the National Office of Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Rabi Shuaibu Jimeta, who spoke on behalf of the two inaugurated Governing Boards, pledged their readiness to render selfless service and ensure that the Transformation Agenda of the present administration becomes a reality. 

    She informed Nigerians of the boards’ resolve to justify the confidence reposed in them by not relenting in the quest to achieve the noble goals for which they were established.
