The ruling Accord in Osun State has declared its readiness to comply fully with the amendments to the Electoral Act mandating political parties to register their members electronically.
The party disclosed that it has commenced its nationwide electronic registration and revalidation of membership in line with the new law.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, the party urged members across the country, including those in the diaspora and prospective members, to take advantage of the exercise to register and obtain new membership cards.

The statement also advised members who previously joined the party through its old platform to participate in the revalidation process, noting that additional information is now required under the new framework.
“This aligns with the new electoral governance framework, which establishes a digital membership register to identify genuine members of our great party and to accredit them for congresses, primaries, and conventions as we diligently prepare for the 2027 general election,” the statement read.
“The national leadership has given directives to ensure a seamless e-registration process, as time is of the essence. Ward, Local Government, State and Zonal executives are urged to mobilise members to participate in an extensive membership drive that will culminate in Accord winning upcoming elections.”
Meanwhile, as the 2027 general elections approach, there are indications that some opposition parties have expressed concerns over the electronic registration requirement introduced by the Electoral Act 2026.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) had earlier warned that the new provision could narrow the democratic space.
