In a bid to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has revealed a significant boost for Youth Corp members serving in the state.
Starting from January next year, these corps members will receive an additional monthly pay of N10,000, as announced by the governor during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch C Stream 2 deployment, which included 1,340 corps members posted to Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri emphasized that this initiative is part of his administration’s generosity, aiming to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

The new N10,000 monthly allowance is in addition to the existing benefits provided by the Federal Government through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, as well as the N20,000 service-long bonus granted by the state government upon completing the service year.
In a further show of support, Governor Fintiri donated 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls, and 10 jerricans of cooking oil during the Batch C Stream Two swearing-in ceremony.
Addressing the newly deployed corps members, he encouraged them to view their deployment and orientation camping as opportunities to discover their talents and urged them to “grab this golden opportunity with both hands.”
The State Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Wali Yakubu, who also serves as the State Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board, advised the corps members to wisely choose from the various skill sets offered by the scheme, actively participate in training sessions, and aspire to become job creators.
