The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has uploaded the names of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the nomination portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the development on Tuesday, describing it as a significant milestone in the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In a post on his Facebook page, Abdullahi said the party remains committed to providing Nigerians with a credible alternative focused on competence, unity and national renewal.
“We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our Vice Presidential Candidate, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of INEC Nigeria.
“This marks another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and our commitment to offer Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity and national renewal,” he wrote.
Atiku, a former Vice President, recently emerged as the ADC’s presidential candidate after defeating former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen at the party’s presidential primary.
Following the conclusion of the primary election, the ADC announced Amaechi as Atiku’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
