Nigerian celebrities such as Olamide, Phyno, Toolz, Bez, Falz, Praiz, Lil Kesh, and others attended the debut album listening party of YBNL recording artiste Adekunle Gold.
The event took place yesterday, Thursday, August 5, 2016, at the Sky Line Terrace at Oriental Hotel in Lekki, Lagos. It was a gathering of stars from the movie and music industry.
Popular media celebrities such as Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Osi Suave, Lolo 1, Olamide Adedeji, Ebuka, Noble Igwe and others were at the listening party.
From the Nollywood end actresses Linda Ejiofor, Adesua Etomi, and Adunni Ade came out to support Adekunle Gold whose debut album has been receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Other celebrities spotted at the event include Yung L, BOJ, Viktoh, Uzi, Samantha Walsh, Sola Dorcas Fapson and others.
The listening party (a mini-concert actually) started past 8 in the night. Popular Cool FM on-air-personality Dotun anchored the event.
Adekunle Gold’s listening party was a celebration of alternative music in the country as it showcased the best alternative singers the country had to offer.
Ric Hassani whose new single ‘Gentleman’ is picking up on the airwaves opened the show with his solid performance. The following acts Byno, Tjan and Aramide gave a good account of themselves also.
After these string of performances, the man of the hour Adekunle Gold stepped on stage to loud ovation. With his parents in attendance, the singer performed songs from his impressive debut album. He ended the first half of his set with his debut single ‘Sade’.
After Chike from The Voice Nigeria performed, Simi (who has been romantically tied with Adekunle Gold) came on stage to perform. She performed a medley of her popular numbers and sang her duet with Adekunle Gold.
The night ended up with Adekunle Gold performing his hit single ‘Pick Up’.
